Britannia Sandersteads team member

Stuart Almandras Director

I’ve worked full time for Sanderstead for 40 years, joining the firm in 1981 as a porter. From here, I worked my way through the company, working first as a non HGV driver, before moving onto HGV trucks, export and specialist packaging and forklifts (reach and counterbalance). Throughout my time with the company, I’ve trained in all aspects of manual moving and I’m fully accredited with qualifications from CRE, OCRM, HCRM, ICRM which means I have an international CPC qualification.

As well as this, I’ve worked as the British Association of Removers’ Area Chairman for the south-east for many years. I’ve also worked as a board director for Britannia Movers International PLC and spent two years with BAR Services.

Away from work, I was married to Jules for 25 years and together we had three beautiful children before she sadly passed away in August 2015. I don’t have any grandchildren yet but the 1st is due to arrive in April 2024, whilst I did have 2 very demanding dogs I sadly lost Bentley in Sept 2023 & Cooper has now become Diabetic and is Blind so he brings a different kind of demand.

I have a passion for cars, motorbikes, fine timepieces and football (my team is Crystal Palace). I love most sports (other than cricket) including martial arts and like to spend my time with great food and drink with my friends.

Trish and I also have a Motor Home which we often take around the UK and Europe along with our trusted dogs. As time ticks along I am not planning to retire just yet but I will be reducing my working week down to 3 days with 4 day weekends.

Mairead Almandras Quotations/Account Manager

I’ve spent my entire working life at Sandersteads, in fact, I’ve been involved in the business since I was in nappies!

Thirteen years ago I took on a full-time role starting in admin and then onto my current role. Now I currently coordinate the sales diary, quotes on overseas moves and manage specific accounts with kitchen and carpet companies for storage and deliveries. I have been an active member of the BAR Young Movers Group for the past 7 years and I am also a member of the Britannia Future Leaders Group.

I live with my dad and our Old Blind Diabetic dog Cooper who l love dearly and more so now having lost our other dog Bentley in Sept 2023. I spoil him as if he was my child, this however might change slightly as I am due to become an Aunty in April 2024.

I don’t have too many hobbies but do love socialising with my friends over dinner or drinks. I also enjoy shopping but that is probably an obsession more than a hobby!

Brenda Almandras Administrator

I work part time at Sandersteads as an administrator dealing with general admin, accounts, post and kitchen duties – I make the tea!

Despite being in my 86th year and officially retired now, everyone needs a purpose to get up and annoy the rest of the office staff – I can’t stay away!

cooper

Cooper Office Dog

Cooper is an office dog who loves to eat, drink, run around and sleep. A 13-year-old Border Terrier, he loves being fussed and petted by staff and can regularly be found greeting customers and barking at workmen!

This has however all changed in the last 12 months as he is now Diabetic and needs insulin injections daily @ 8am and 8pm – this has further caused him to become blind so not as active as he once was but the new part time dog in the office is keeping him young!

noodle

Noodle Office Dog

Noodle is our newest part time office dog. Whilst Noodle’s mum, Gina is at work at Britannia Movers International central office, managing the Corporate department, he very much enjoys coming to join the office fun.

What he lacks in size, he makes up for in character and loves nothing more than a belly rub! He can be a cheeky, playful little sausage but he is very loving and enjoying his new role as deputy window watch, with absence of Bentley he has become a good friend for Cooper
